Frequently Asked Questions about Depression
Answers to common questions about our Depression Management services and treatment approach.
Our Depression Management combines Shirodhara with traditional head and body massages, personalised herbal therapies, dietary guidance and lifestyle recommendations. Each plan is tailored after an Ayurvedic assessment to soothe the nervous system, reduce stress, uplift mood and restore emotional balance over time.
Response varies; some clients feel calmer after the first session, while meaningful improvement usually requires several treatments and lifestyle adjustments. We recommend weekly sessions for at least four to eight weeks, combined with dietary and sleep-hygiene changes for sustained benefits.
Generally Ayurvedic massages and Shirodhara are safe alongside medications, but interactions with herbal medicines can occur. Please disclose all prescriptions during your consultation. Our Ayurvedic physician coordinates care with your doctor when needed and adjusts herbal or nutritional plans to ensure safety.
Sessions usually last between 60 to 90 minutes depending on the treatments selected. A Shirodhara session with head and body massage typically runs about 75 minutes, while initial consultations may take longer to complete a full Ayurvedic assessment.
Avoid heavy meals, alcohol and vigorous exercise for several hours before treatment. Arrive hydrated, wear comfortable clothing, and inform us of medications or recent health changes. Follow pre-appointment guidance provided during booking for optimal treatment comfort and effectiveness.
Ayurvedic care aims to address underlying imbalances and strengthen resilience, reducing relapse risk when combined with lifestyle changes and follow-up care. While not a guaranteed prevention, regular maintenance therapies, stress management and healthy routines significantly improve long-term emotional stability.
